What is Track Link?
Track Link is a pioneering tech project based in Sheffield, England. Our Mission is clear: to deliver high-speed, stable onboard Wi-Fi to trains without depending on cellular networks.
In a world where passengers expect seamless connectivity, current solutions often fall short due to patchy mobile coverage, slow speeds, and high costs. Track Link is building an alternative: a dedicated data communication system that runs alongside the railway infrastructure, offering consistent and reliable connectivity, even in tunnels, rural areas, or signal blackspots.

Track Link is here to fix that.
We’re creating a dedicated rail-based communication system to deliver fast, stable onboard internet, without depending on mobile coverage.
How will it work?
The first stage of Track Link involves building and testing a mock communications system using Single Board Computers (SBCs). These devices are being evaluated in a simulated rail environment designed to replicate real-world railways' electrical noise and interference.
Once a stable, interference-resistant system is established, we’ll begin field testing on a light rail network, followed by a pilot in collaboration with Network Rail.
